Issue:

You need to apply registry and user profile changes after installing AutoCAD Map 3D and would like a script to automate the task.

Environment:

  • XenApp 4.5 or 5.0 on Windows Server 2003
  • XenApp 6.0 on Windows Server 2008

Solution:

Download the attached file, citrix-scripts-windows-03-08.zip (14 Kb), and extract the files listed below appropriate for your software version:
  • XenApp 4.5 or 5.0 on Windows Server 2003: CitrixScripts_Win_SVR_2003.zip
  • XenApp 6.0 on Windows Server 2008: CitrixScripts_Win_SVR_2008.zip

To use scripts to configure the registry settings and user profiles:

  1. Log-in as the user who installed AutoCAD Map 3D.

  2. Configure AutoCAD Map 3D and ensure that AutoCAD Map 3D is running on XenApp as expected.

  3. Exit AutoCAD Map 3D.

  4. Extract the files in either CitrixScripts_Win_SVR_2003.zip or CitrixScripts_Win_SVR_2008.zip to C:\Autodesktemplate.

Note: If you wish to store template files in another directory, such as a shared network location, you can edit the SaveAutodeskTemplate.bat and ApplyAutodeskTemplate.bat files to point to your desired location. Make sure that the new users have read/write access to this folder.

  1. At the Windows Command Prompt, run SaveAutodeskTemplate.bat.

The SaveAutodeskTemplate.bat runs the script to store template files in C:\Autodesktemplate. By default a log file named AutodeskForCitrix.log will be created under the current users temporary folder at '%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temp'.

  1. Log-in as the new user.

  2. At the Windows Command Prompt, run ApplyAutodeskTemplate.bat.

The script will automatically check if the script has been run before by checking if %userprofile%\application data\autodesk folder exists. If not, it will read saved data from the template directory and apply the necessary changes. By default a log file named AutodeskForCitrix.log will be created under the current users temporary folder at '%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temp'.
