Raster Design tools are not displayed on the ribbon in AutoCAD Products

Issue:

The Raster Design tools are missing from the ribbon when using an AutoCAD product.

Causes:

  • Raster Design has not been installed. It is a separate installer.
  • The Raster Design partial customization file (.cuix) has not been loaded into the current workspace, is corrupt, or is missing.
  • The installs of Raster Design and AutoCAD are different release versions. For example, Raster Design 2023 and AutoCAD 2024.  

Solution:

Raster Design has not been installed or the installed version does not match AutoCAD.

Note: The trial install of Raster Design is the most current version.

If the matching Raster Tool has been installed, try one of these solutions:

  • Refresh the current workspace by switching to a different workspace and then switching back.
  • Check if the Raster Design partial customization file is loaded and working correctly by:
    1. On the command line, enter CUILOAD and press Enter.
    2. In the Load/Unload Customization dialog box, check if the AUTOCADRASTERDESIGN entry is listed.
    3. If the entry is listed, try the following:
      • Reload the customization file by clicking AUTOCADRASTERDESIGN, clicking Unload, and then reload the file.
      • Close all Autodesk software and repair the installation of Raster Design (see Repair an Installation).
    4. If the entry is not listed:
      1. Click Browse and navigate to the following location: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\<product folder>\RXX.X\<language>\Support.
      2. Select the AeCco.cuix file and click Open.
        • Note: If the AeCco.cuix file is not present in the listed path, copy it from C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD Raster Design 20XX\UserDataCache\Support to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\<product folder>\RXX.X\<language>\Support and then load it. Do not load the customization file directly from the AutoCAD Raster Design folder.
  • Add the Raster Design ribbon tab to the current workspace. 
  • Set the APPAUTOLOAD variable to 14, then close and reopen AutoCAD.
