Issue:

After installing Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7, Autodesk software stops working.

Causes:

Incompatible .NET Framework.

Solution:

The .NET Framework 4.7.1 was released on October 17, 2017. Based on feedback recently received, this update has resolved the issue for some where we’ve been seeing with AutoCAD software breaking on Windows 7-10 with the .NET 4.7 install. The same update is included in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.
Microsoft has addressed this issue in the following article:
"COMException" error from WPF applications after the .NET Framework 4.7 is installed on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

On Windows 7 systems, uninstall .NET Framework 4.7 via Programs and Features and then download and install .NET Framework 4.6.2. Once complete launch your Autodesk product to verify that it is working properly. If problems persist, repair the installation of the Autodesk product via Programs and Features.

According to the article Troubleshoot blocked .NET Framework installations and uninstallations from Microsoft:

"In Windows 8 and above, the .NET Framework is an operating system component and cannot be independently uninstalled. Updates to the .NET Framework appear in the Installed Updates tab of the Control Panel Programs and Features app. For operating systems on which the .NET Framework is not preinstalled, the .NET Framework appears in the Uninstall or change a program tab (or the Add/Remove programs tab) of the Program and Features app in Control Panel. For information on the Windows versions on which the .NET Framework is preinstalled, see System Requirements."

Windows 10 Creators Update (v1703) comes with an embedded .NET Framework 4.7.
Rolling back the Creators Update is the only way to remove .NET Framework 4.7 once it has been installed (see How to rollback & uninstall Windows 10 Creators Update), although reverting to a restore point prior to the Creators Update is an option (see Recovery options in Windows 10).

Windows 10 Creators New Install (v1703) comes with an embedded .NET Framework 4.7.
  • With new deployments for this version of Windows, .NET cannot be rolled back
