Issue:

Some or all elements are not visible in a particular view or level in Revit. Items may show when using a window selection box.

Causes:

The view or level is corrupted.

Solution:

To create a new level:

  1. Rename the old level first.
  2. Create the new level with the appropriate name.
  3. In a 3D view, or a plan view on another level (with view range adjusted to show the elements hosted to the corrupted level), select the elements on the corrupted level and rehost to the new level, or create new instances of these elements on the new level.
  4. Delete the old level.

To create a new view:

  1. Check to see what the "Associated Level" is for the corrupted view.
  2. Go to View > Plans Views > Floor plan.
  3. Uncheck "Do not duplicate existing views".
  4. Select the same Level from step one.
  5. Select OK.
  6. Go through all properties in the problematic view and apply them to the new view (View Template is an option).
  7. Select all annotations (text/tags/lines) from the corrupted view.
  8. Copy to Clipboard.
  9. Paste > Aligned to Same Place in the new view.
