Issue:

After transforming drawing content to a new coordinate system, Civil 3D objects (alignments, corridors, surfaces, and other) do not come across and are not present in the reprojected drawing.

Note: See article for How to transform (reproject) drawing content to another coordinate system with AutoCAD Map 3D or Civil 3D.

Causes:

Civil 3D objects are not eligible to be transformed to another coordinate system using Map 3D transformation tools. Map 3D only recognizes AutoCAD entities.

Solution:

To transform Civil 3D objects, follow the steps (example for surfaces):
  1. Import the surface to a new drawing.
  2. Set the correct coordinate system using MAPCASSIGN command.
  3. Extract the objects from the surface (points, triangles, breaklines).
  4. Save and close the drawing.
  5. Reproject the drawing using the steps from the article: How to transform (reproject) drawing content to another coordinate system with AutoCAD Map 3D or Civil 3D
  6. Recreate the surface from the source objects.
