Issue:

When clicking the BIM 360/Revit Server/External Resources icons in Revit, the icon depresses but nothing changes in the view of files to the right. Additionally:
  • Models are accessible through File Explorer and/or BIM 360 site.
  • The path displayed in the open dialog may be a local path.
  • Revit Server icon can sometimes be missing completely.

Causes:

Windows GodMode is enabled.

Solution:

Modify Windows Master Control Panel (God Mode) folder path

  • Create a subfolder and move the unnamed folder associated with the God Mode feature into the subfolder.

Disable God Mode

  • If moving the folder doesn't clear the issue, delete the Control Panel shortcut folder with no name to disable God Mode.

If this shortcut is not found, the following external article has information on how this mode is enabled, and could be used as a guide for disabling: How to enable the legendary 'God Mode' in Windows 10 for all the settings.
