Issue:

Fusion 360 fails is not operating correctly under the beta pre-release version of Windows 10. One or more of the following behaviours are observed:
  • When double-clicking Fusion 360 or running FusionLauncher.exe, the software is displayed within the Task Manager but hangs and never launches.
  • Fusion 360 launches, but is not stable and often crashes.
  • A clean uninstall and reinstall of the software does not resolve the issue.
  • No error notifications are displayed within the installation log file autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log.
  • The installation does not seem to be complete. Other log files (application, Web Services) are nowhere to be found.

Environment:

  • Preview builds of Windows 10 v. 2004 (Windows 10 Insider Preview Builds 19030, 19041)

Causes:

Currently, Fusion 360 does not support advanced or insider preview builds of Windows. While they may seem to work, there can be instability or launching issues that prohibits Fusion 360 from operating correctly.

Solution:

Follow the steps below:
  1. Install a new officially released version of Windows 10.
  2. Re-test launching Fusion 360.
  3. If Fusion 360 fails to launch, Reset Fusion 360 using the Service Utility. See Overview of Reset Fusion 360 Command from Fusion 360 Service Utility
