If troubleshooting stability or connectivity issues, the root cause may be a corrupt configuration file or registry setting. Isolating the precise problem may be time consuming. Resetting the Vault Software back to its original trouble free state might be the fastest option. In that situation consider:-
 
1) Repairing the Vault software installation
2) Reinstalling the Vault software installation
3) Uninstalling and reinstallling all the compoonents that the Vault software uses. For Vault Server, this may also include:
SQL
IIS 
Vault Server
Other minor but critical components

If you are unable to uninstall the Autodesk Vault Software through the Windows Control Panel, the Operating System has corrupted. Reinstall the Operating System before proceeding.

NOTE: In all cases listed above, the edition (Basic, Workgroup, Professional) of Vault that includes the largest number of components is listed. In every release of software this is always the Professional version of Vault. Vault Basic and Workgroup will install a subset of the components installed by Professional.

Additionally, the list of components generated, unless otherwise stated is compiled from the oldest operating system supported by that version. This ensures that the list of components is as complete as possible as some required components are integrated with newer operating systems and no longer appear in the list of installed programs.
