Issue:

An application is not behaving as expected. You would like to determine if a background process is conflicting with Autodesk software and causing an issue. It may help to eliminate all background processes and re-test to see if there is a process in the local environment that is causing a conflict.

Solution:

The easiest method to do this is in the msconfig command:

1. Use the Run window. To do that, simultaneously press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard or launch CMD.exe
2. Then, write msconfig in the text field and press Enter or OK.
3. In the Boot tab, check Safe Boot and Network
4. Upon restarting, launch the Task Manager (CTRL + SHIFT + ESC) and review the processes tab
5. Use End Task to end any non-essential processes.
6. Disable anti-virus software (check with your vendor or IT staff on how to do this)
7. Re-Test

If this helps, there is a process running in the background that is causing the issue.

To diagnose the faulting process, try restarting the background processes one by one and retesting until the issue reoccurs. Once the issue reoccurs, the last process that was launched is likely to be causing a product issue.
