"EnergyPlus simulation did not generate a report for Systems Analysis" in Revit

Issue:

Users reported that when using the Systems Analysis tool on certain systems the following message is displayed on the Analysis Report: "EnergyPlus simulation did not generate a report for systems analysis."
  • The Windows application event viewer records the following event when the analysis is run:

Exception code: 0xc0000005

  • Additionally, the message "Invalid JSON primitive' may be displayed.

Environment:

OpenStudio from NREL on computers with following chipsets:

• Intel(R) Cannon Lake CPU
• Intel(R) Ice Lake CPU
• Intel(R) Ice Lake server CPU
• Intel(R) Tiger Lake CPU
• Intel(R) Alder Lake CPU
• Intel(R) Sapphire Rapids CPU

Status:

This incident has been resolved in:

Revit 2024

To install updates, open the Autodesk desktop app and click My Updates. To install a new version of your Autodesk software, open the Autodesk desktop app, sign in, and click My Products. To use a web browser to install updates or a new version, sign in to Autodesk Account. (Your access to new versions or updates depends on your Autodesk software entitlements.)

Workaround:

As an alternative solution run analysis on computer with different processor than listed in Environment paragraph.
