Filled region from nested Revit family missing when printing

Issue:

Users reported that when printing from Revit families containing nested filled regions do not print as displayed onscreen.

Status:

This incident has been resolved in:


Revit 2024

To install updates, open the Autodesk desktop app and click My Updates. To install a new version of your Autodesk software, open the Autodesk desktop app, sign in, and click My Products. To use a web browser to install updates or a new version, sign in to Autodesk Account. (Your access to new versions or updates depends on your Autodesk software entitlements.)

Additional Information:

In order for this to occur, the following needs to happen:

Workaround:

  1. Adjust the Visibility Settings for the 3D geometry in the family so that it is not visible in plan views.

  2. Create new geometry to represent the 3D geometry for the plan view (e.g. outline)

 
Alternative option:

  • Change the nested family containing the filled region to a different category e.g. Generic Annotation.
