How to change text size on the ribbon and toolbars in AutoCAD products

Issue:

Want to increase or decrease the font or text size on the ribbon, toolbars, and menus in AutoCAD products.

Solution:

Able to control the size of the toolbar buttons and and ribbon icons in the Options dialog box.
  1. At the command prompt enter OPTIONS. 
  2. On the Options dialog box > Display tab, under Window Elements, select or deselect the following settings:
  • Use large buttons for toolbars
  • Resize ribbon icons to standard sizes

The overall font size display in AutoCAD is governed by screen resolution and the font size setting in the operating system. Can adjust text size by doing one of the following:
  • Change monitor screen resolution.
  • Adjust the font size (Windows). Note: The AutoCAD interface is designed for 100% font size and may not scale well when changed.
  • Check to see whether operating system has "Ease of Access" or "Accessibility" features.

To adjust the font size (Windows 10)

  1. In the Windows Start menu search field, type "display" or type it at the desktop.
  2. Click "Set custom text size (DPI)."
  3. Choose a percentage in the drop-down menu or drag the ruler.
  4. Click OK.

To adjust the font size (Windows 11)

  1. In the Windows Start menu search field, type "display" or type it at the desktop.
  2. Click "Change Brightness Level".
  3. On the left side select "Accessibility".
  4. Click "Text Size".

  1. Click "Set custom text size (DPI)."
  2. Adjust the ruler and click apply.
