Issue:

You want to remove unused DGN linetypes from your drawing in AutoCAD.

Note: In AutoCAD 2012, 2013 and 2014 there was a hotfix that removed the extra DGN line style data, but it's not available in AutoCAD 2015 or later.

Causes:

Solution:

To change the default setting:

  1. Run the PURGE command.
  2. In the Purge dialog box, check "Orphaned data".

When this setting is turned on, every time you run the PURGE command, the Purge dialog box is displayed, AutoCAD checks whether the DGN line style data is in use, and purges any unused line styles.

Note: Deleting obsolete DGN line style data does not remove unused DGN linetypes.

To change the setting temporarily:

  1. If you want an immediate, temporary action, at the command prompt, enter -PURGE.
  2.  Select Orphaned Data.
