How to find, customize, or purchase Post Processors for PowerMill, PartMaker, PowerInspect, or FeatureCAM

Issue:

Post processors for PowerMill, PartMaker, PowerInspect, or FeatureCAM:
 
  • Can't be found.
  • Need 4-axis capability
  • Require a revision.
  • New/custom post files are needed.
  • MillTurn with Live toolings.
  • Swiss Machines. 
  • Need EDM customization. 
  • Need to add G code.

Solution:

Autodesk no longer does postprocessor modifications. Instead, these are now done by our Partners.
Post Mods now appear to be beyond the terms of our support contract and are no longer something that we can directly assist you with here in technical support.

  • If you do not know who the reseller assigned to your account is, create a support request to request this information. 
  • If you are an Enterprise Priority customer or do not have a reseller assigned to your account, contact your Autodesk sales representative for assistance with how to handle your post processor request.

 

To find post processors that are provided with the software:

For 3-axis postprocessors

Several 3-axis post processors freely available come as part of the installation.

  • 3-axis PowerMill postprocessors can be found in the folder:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\Manufacturing Post Processor Utility 20xx\Generic
  • 3-axis FeatureCAM postprocessors can be found in the folder:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\FeatureCAM 20xx\Posts\Mill\3-Axis
  • 3-axis PartMaker postprocessors can be found in the folder
C:\PartMaker\pm-mill\Postlib or C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\PartMaker\pm-mill\Postlib

 

For 2D Turn postprocessors

2D Turn postprocessors are freely available that come as part of the installation.

  • 2D Turn FeatureCAM postprocessors can be found in the folder:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\FeatureCAM 20xx\Posts\Turn
  • 2D Turn PartMaker postprocessors can be found in the folder:
C:\PartMaker\pm-turn\Postlib or C:\Users\Public\Documents\Autodesk\PartMaker\pm-turn
 

For WireEDM postprocessors

Several WireEDM post processors are freely available that come as part of the installation.

  • WireEDM FeatureCAM post processors can be found in the folder:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\FeatureCAM 20xx\Posts\WireEDM
 

For PowerInspect OMV postprocessors

Several post processors are freely available that come as part of the installation.
  • PowerInspect post processors can be found in the folder:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\PowerInspect 2022\file\OMVOptionFiles

 

Postprocessors for the following types of machines need to be purchased from resellers

  • All 4 and 5 axis milling machines.
  • TurnMill/MillTurn machines or any lathe with live tooling like the Doosan Lynx/Puma, Haas ST, Mori NL, Okuma LB/Multus.
  • All Swiss-type lathes like the Citizen K/L/M, Tsugami BO, Star SR, etc.
  • Conversion from DuctPost to AMPPU.
  • Machines that are not covered in the default post library.
