How to delete a redundant property from Find in Vault

Issue:

The number of properties in the drop down list is too long. How can you shorten it?

Solution:

Disable unwanted properties
  1. Log in to the Vault as a user with Administrative privileges.
  2. Go Tools> Administration> Vault Settings> Behaviors.
  3. Click Properties

  1. In the "Property Definitions", window, notice that some properties are Enabled, some Disabled.

  1. Once you have decided which property you wish to hide from your users, select it and click the Edit button.

  1. Click OK.The property should no longer be indexed or searchable in Vault.

"If a property is set to Disabled, it is not indexed and it is not extracted from files when they are added or checked in to the vault. Administrators can clean up unwanted properties by marking them Disabled."
