Issue:

How to gather log files for Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) products.

Solution:

General steps:

Analyzing log files can be very labor-intensive if the log files contain too much information. It is much easier to analyze log files that capture only information about the "broken" part of specific workflows. Perform the following steps to keep the log files as short as possible:

  1. Update the affected software to the latest version.
  2. Restart the software or restart the computer to clear the current session and to start a new log file.
  3. (For Desktop Connector): Enable verbose logging before reproducing the workflow. (See How to create diagnostic logs for Desktop Connector )
  4. Reproduce the specific workflow that is causing issues, ideally with a small test model or project.
  5. Close the affected software.
  6. Gather the latest log files from the following locations. (Make sure the time stamp matches the time when the workflow was finished or when the software was closed.)

Note: It is required to activate the option "Hidden Items" in the "View" menu of Windows explorer to see all the necessary subfolders.
