Issue:

How to import a JSON, TOOLS, CSV, or HSMLIB CAM tool library into Autodesk Fusion.

Solution:

Importing a Tool Library in Autodesk Fusion:

  1. In Autodesk Fusion, switch over to the CAM workspace. Open the Tool Library through the icon shown (in the Manage section of the ribbon).
Fusion 360 Tool Library User Interface
  1. In the CAM Tool Library dialog box, right-click either the Local or Cloud library tabs to the left of the window. This will give the option to import a tool library. The options to import or create a library will not become active unless 'Cloud' or 'Local' libraries are selected.

  1. Select the TOOLS, .JSON, .HSMLIB, or .CSV tool library file to be imported from its local location and click "OK." This will add the library underneath your Cloud or Local libraries.

Note: To use Cloud Library in the Tool Library, open Fusion 360 preferences and activate "Enable Cloud Libraries" option in Manufacture area.

Import and use a vendor tool library

To use libraries from different tooling manufacturers, download a library from Tools for Autodesk Fusion and then in Autodesk Fusion, import it to the Tool Library.
