Issue:

How to set exceptions for Autodesk Network License Manager in Windows Firewall.

Solution:

Autodesk Network License Server uses the first available TCP port in 27000 to 27009 range for lmgrd (the master daemon) and TCP port 2080, which is a reserved port for adskflex (Autodesk vendor daemon). Thus, after installing the Autodesk Network License Manager, network communication through these ports must be open to have a functional network license manager.

1. Open Windows Firewall (Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Firewall) – Advanced settings

2. Select – Inbound Rules

New Rules
Port – Next
TCP – and type 2080, 27000-27009 in specific port box > Next
Select Allow the connection > Next
Select Domain, Private, Public
Name – Autodesk lmgrd (or one of your choices)
Open the settings again and go to the tab Protocols and Ports.
Set Local port to "All Ports".
Set Remote port to "2080,27000-27009"

3. Select – Outbound Rules

New Rules
Port – Next
TCP – and type 2080, 27000-27009 in specific port box > Next
Select Allow the connection > Next
Select Domain, Private, Public
Name – Autodesk lmgrd (or one of your choice)

Attention:
Please set in all rules the Client ports to All ports and the Server ports to 2080, 27000-27009, as the license tool on the client will use also other ports. The server will always use by default the ports 2080, 27000-27009 unless you change the ports in the license file.
