Issue:

How to share Tool Libraries between Team Hub Members in Fusion so that updates are shared automatically among all Team Members?

Solution:

To share Tool Library Assets with multiple members of a Team Hub, do the following:

  1. Create a Team Hub if one is not already being used. See How to create/signup for a Fusion Team Hub.
  2. Add the members that should have access to shared data to the Team. See Administer Team Members and Roles.
  3. Check that those with whom the tool libraries are being shared are listed as Team Members in the Team Hub. (not just Project Contributors).
  4. Make sure that whoever is not seeing the tool libraries has "Enable Cloud Libraries" checked in the Manufacture section of the Preferences window.
Enable cloud libraries in preferences
  1. All tool libraries that will be shared across members need to be cloud libraries. See How to install a cloud tool library in Fusion 360
  2. All Team Members will now be able to access the cloud libraries when working in this team hub.

Note:

  • Check the list of hubs to see if a team hub is already being used. See How to Switch between a Personal hub and a Team hub in Fusion
  • When a CAM Asset is edited by a member of the hub, the changes will be shown in the version number of the asset in the Fusion Data Panel.
    • For example, if a tool is added to a Cloud Tool Library by one member of a team, the other members of the team will see a new version of the library in their Data Panel after restarting Fusion or refreshing the Assets > CAMTools folder in their Data Panel.
  • Sometimes, a team hub member will not have access to the Assets folders even with full Editor permissions. In such a case, have the Hub Administrator toggle the activation status of the team members account.
  • Assets folders in personal hubs cannot be shared between different Fusion members.
  • Tool Libraries cannot be shared between many individual Team Hubs.
  • Individual tool libraries can be shared by right-clicking the .json file in the data panel and sharing it as a public link.
