How to switch between direct and parametric modeling in Fusion

Issue:

How to switch between direct modeling and parametric modeling in Fusion. Some workspaces or workflows require the use of direct modeling. Direct modeling is nonparametric in nature, and does not include the timeline, while parametric modeling captures the design history.

Solution:

To enable Direct Modeling

  1. Right-click on the root component in the Browser.
  2. Select Do not capture Design History.

To enable Parametric Modeling

  1. Right-click on the root component in the Browser.
  2. Select Capture Design History.

Note: In Preferences,Design the default setting for Design History for new files.
