Issue printing to PDF, that is not seen when exporting to PDF

Issue:

When printing to PDF (or using a third party PDF creation add-on), an issue shows up which does not occur when exporting to PDF. There are many possible issues, but an example would be:

  • Shaded box artifacts when printing to PDF

Causes:

PDF Printer

Solution:

PDF Printer

  • Check if there are updates available for the PDF Printer.
  • If there are no updates, or updating doesn't help, work with the maker of the PDF printer for troubleshooting the behavior.

Export to PDF

You can use the Export to PDF feature (available in Revit 2022 and later versions) as a short term workaround or replacement for printing to PDF.
