Issue:

When viewing a drawing in AutoCAD products, either in model or paper space, lineweights are not shown as how they are configured. The issue can have different forms:
  • All lines are the same thin basic weight.
  • Only single objects are affected.
  • With lineweights active, the lines or parts of them disappear.
  • Lines are displayed only as dots or dotted.

Solution:

To solve the issue, check the following options:

LWDisplay

On the command line in AutoCAD, type LWDISPLAY and set the value to On (or 1). Alternatively, use the Show/Hide Lineweight button  Lineweight (Status Bar Button) that can be added to the status bar.

Note: On Page Setup, the setting Display plot styles can override expected lineweights depending on the plot style file chosen.

Polyline corruption

The polyline might be corrupt. Therefore, run the following steps:

  1. Select the object.
  2. Enter EXPLODE in the AutoCAD command line.
  3. The lineweight should be shown correctly.
  4. Enter PEDIT in the AutoCAD command line to recreate the Polyline.
