Overview of Reset Fusion Command from Fusion Service Utility

Issue:

From the Fusion Service Utility, there is a command to Reset Fusion. This article provides further detail about this command.

Solution:

This solution is recommended for general issues related to Fusion failing to start, but can solve other product issues as well. This solution will not address problems related to hardware such as out of date drivers for graphics cards, or peripheral devices (monitors, docking stations, tablets, and 3D space mouse). Warnings:  

  • Removing locally cached design data or login credential may prevent the ability to work in offline mode. This solution is not recommended if Fusion is experiencing any service outages. Check the health dashboard here to find the status of related Fusion web services. 
  • Removal of user credentials will sign out of all Autodesk products and services 

Description of Command Options 

  • Keep offline user cache - Checking this box will keep locally cached application data and locally cached design files (local storage, upload queue, and recovery files). 
  • Keep user credential – Checking this box skips the removal of files associated with the login and authentication of Autodesk user account.  

To reset Fusion: 

  1. Open the Fusion Service Utility. See How to launch the Fusion Service Utility.

  2. Select Reset Fusion.  

  1. Check the desired options (Keep offline user cache, Keep user credentials).  

  1. Select Yes, Proceed.  

Select 'Yes, Proceed' after checking or unchecking the desired options   

  1. Fusion will delete the files. 

  1. Manually restart Fusion.
