Issue:

Point Cloud Helper object is missing the Load button in 3ds Max.

Causes:

Some antivirus or security software, such as Digital Guardian or Crowdstrike End-Point Protection, is preventing 3ds Max from loading supplemental files, such as point cloud .RCS or .RCP files.

Solution:

To address this issue:
  • Consult your antivirus, firewall or security software's Help files or online documentation to allow exceptions for the 3dsmax.exe file, and for associated point cloud .RCS and .RCP files.
