Issue:

When interacting with Revit Server, the following error message appears:

Operation Could Not Be Completed

This operation could not be completed. Please try again.
If you are collaborating on a model using the cloud or Revit Server, check your network connection.
If the problem persists, save any changes to the models locally.

This operation could not be completed. Please try again.

Solution:

This message can occur for a variety of reasons. To research the cause of the message, look at the following:

Supported Environment

See the System Requirements for Autodesk Revit Products for more information to ensure that each version of Revit and Revit Server are running on a supported environment.
 

Functionality of Revit Server

Perform the steps in the following article to verify the basic functionality of the Revit Server: How to check if an installation of Revit Server is working properly.

Revit Journals

Review the Revit journal files around the time the error was received, and check if any of the following items are found:

Unable to save specific project to Revit Server.

Revit Server Log Files

Review the Revit Server log files around the time the error was received. Especially look for lines relating to the Revit Server GUID recorded in the journal when Revit was communicating with the Revit Server.
