Issue:

When loading or reloading a link in a cloud-based Revit model, the following error is received:

Missing Add-ins

Revit cannot load {File} because the add-in that provides that resource is not installed.

Revit cannot load BIM 360:// {File} because the add-in that provides that resource is not installed

Revit cannot load Autodesk Docs:// {File} because the add-in that provides that resource is not installed

Causes:

  • The link contains a nested link and Revit does not have access to the nested cloud model.
  • The link is a composite (ZIP) file being accessed through the Desktop Connector.
  • Desktop Connector is not installed or running.

Solution:

Nested Link

  • Open the link, unload the nested cloud links (or set their attachment type to Overlay), save, and then link the updated model.
  • Alternatively, request access to the cloud project that contains the nested cloud link.
