Environment:

Proxy-secured network.

Solution:

Note:

Verify the proxy server settings

Note:

  • Proxy servers are usually put in place as security measure.
  • Always consult with your network administrator before performing any of the below steps.
  • If the network firewall allows Internet access through a proxy server, change the settings on the browser to allow access to the Autodesk licensing server.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Verify that the Proxy server setup meets the criteria recommended here:
  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Type Internet Options in the search box.
  3. Click Internet Options.
  4. On the Connections tab of the Internet Properties dialog box, click LAN Settings.
  5. In the Proxy Server section of the LAN Settings dialog box, make sure that Use A Proxy Server For Your LAN is selected.
  6. Click Advanced.
  7. Under Exceptions on the Proxy Settings dialog box, enter domains from the following article:

Proxy exceptions

Note:

  • If the network uses WPAD (Web Proxy Automatic Discovery) to configure proxies, enable proxy detection.
  • Autodesk licensing components disable WPAD proxy detection because automatic detection can degrade performance in networks without proxy servers.
  • HTTPS Inspection can break the certificate revocation check. Disable this feature for the domains *.autodesk.com.
  • When using a centralized proxy, allow the domains indicated at this page.
  • Configure the proxy to allow unrestricted and anonymous access to all of these URLs. The default port number for HTTP is 80 and for HTTPS is 443
  • In Login Verification-specific domains. Try to add these domains either one by one or by using wildcard. E.g., instead of cur.autodesk.com, registeronce.autodesk.com etc. use *.autodesk.com instead to cover them all.
  • Make sure that TLS 1.2 is enabled.
  • Certificate verification sites are all using HTTP but not HTTPS, note the protocol when adding the corresponding domains from the allow list.
  • If the domain has a Group Policy Object that restricts third-party certificate registration or revocation, refer to this article to check the Certificate Path Validation Settings Properties of the GPO.
  • Refresh the compromised Root Certificates by following these steps.
  • If the network uses a Squid caching proxy:

proxy, no sing in, squid, .symcb.com
