"System.TypeLoadException[...]" while attempting to start Dynamo and Dynamo Player from Revit

Issue:

Users reported that Dynamo and Dynamo Player cannot be launched from Revit.
The following message is displayed:

System.TypeLoadException: Method'SignRequest' in type 'Greg.AuthProviders.RevitOxygenProvider [...]

This incident has been resolved in:

Revit 2022.1.4
Revit 2021.1.8

To install updates, open the Autodesk desktop app and click My Updates. To install a new version of your Autodesk software, open the Autodesk desktop app, sign in, and click My Products. To use a web browser to install updates or a new version, sign in to Autodesk Account. (Your access to new versions or updates depends on your Autodesk software entitlements.)

Additional Information:

Third party add-ins for Revit are installed on the machine.

Workaround:

Disable add-ins

  1. Close Revit.

  2.  Disable the add-ins manually.

If third party add-ins are needed

  1. Download the updated authentication provider here. Select "Download package" under the "About" section.
  2. Extract the contents and navigate to the \Lib\net48 folder to find the new GregRevitAuth.dll file.

  3. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit <version year>\AddIns\DynamoForRevit\Revit

  4. Save the existing GregRevitAuth.dll file as a backup by renaming it or moving it to another location.

  5. Place the new GregRevitAuth.dll file in the same location as the prior GregRevitAuth.dll file and re-test.
