Issue:

This article provides the system requirements for Autodesk® AutoCAD Map 3D 2017.

Before installing Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D 2017 software, it is important that you verify that your computer meets, or exceeds, the minimum system requirements for operation. If your system does not meet the minimum requirements, problems can occur while running the product, and at the operating system level.

Solution:

Autodesk® AutoCAD® Map 3D 2017 software supports only 64-bit operating systems. The following tables outline the hardware and software requirements on a 64-bit environment.

The license server and all workstations that will run applications dependent on network licensing must run TCP/IP protocol.

Either Microsoft® or Novell TCP/IP protocol stacks are acceptable. Primary login on workstations may be Netware or Windows.

In addition to operating systems supported for the application, the license server will run on the Windows Server® 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, and Windows 2008 R2 Server editions.

An instance of Oracle is optional for some products.

Enterprise Editions of Oracle 11g and Oracle 12c are required to support jobs and long transactions.

Oracle 11g and Spatial or Oracle 12c and Spatial are required to support 3D.

Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 requires Oracle 11g R2.

Microsoft Windows 7 and 8.1 require an Oracle 11g R2 Client or Oracle 12cR1 Client

During the installation and configuration of your products, you must connect to the database. Make sure your administrator provides the following settings and passwords:

  • Oracle user with rights on SYS.DBMS_RLS and DBA rights (default "SYS AS SYSDBA"). Default = SYS
  • Oracle system user: Default = SYSTEM
  • Service name: Default = ORCL
  • Spatial system user MDSYS (unlocked: we recommend that you unlock MDSYS through the Industry Model Setup after you have installed the Infrastructure Administrator).
  • Tablespace defaults: Tablespace: USERS, Temporary tablespace: TEMP, and Index.
