Issue:

When moving the mouse or other pointing device the cursor lags, pauses frequently, is jerky, or may show no movement on the screen in AutoCAD.

Solution:

Do the following:

  • Change or replace the batteries for the device.
  • Detach and reattach the device or connector to confirm that the connection is secure.
  • Switch the device to a different connection port.
  • If this is a Bluetooth device, confirm that there is connectivity.
  • Try a different pointing device to make sure the device itself is not at fault.
    • Try switching between optical and laser based devices.
  • Device drivers:
    • Install the latest version or update for the drivers from the manufacturer's website.
    • Try uninstalling the proprietary drivers and test the pointing device with the default drivers installed by the Operating System.
