At launch the AutoCAD custom user interface (CUI or CUIX) file loads instead of the Toolset file

Issue:

When launching an AutoCAD Toolset, the program will load the core AutoCAD custom user interface (CUI or CUIX) file as opposed to loading the Toolset or program specific file.

For instance, when launching AutoCAD Architecture (ACA), the ACAD.CUIx file will load instead of the ACA.CUIx file. As a result, the Architecture specific components are not available.

The following or similar error may be displayed:

AutoCAD Message
Unhandled exception has occurred in the component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.

File Access Error: acadm.cuix

Solution:

Do one or more of the following:

Check and fix permissions for the file, user and application.
Reload the CUIX file (see To Create and Manage Customization (CUIx) Files).
Reset AutoCAD to defaults (see How to reset AutoCAD to defaults).
