AutoCAD Electrical Reference Designator Property does not appear in Vault Item BOM

Issue:

Users reported that when assigning Items to AutoCAD Electrical project files in Vault, the reference designator property information is not mapping.

Status:

This incident has been resolved in:

Autodesk Vault 2023.3.1

To install updates, open the Autodesk desktop app and click My Updates. To install a new version of your Autodesk software, open the Autodesk desktop app, sign in, and click My Products. To use a web browser to install updates or a new version, sign in to Autodesk Account. (Your access to new versions or updates depends on your Autodesk software entitlements.)

Workaround:

On one of the project DWG files, add the Reference Designator to the BOM report and place it on the drawing.
  1. Check out one of the project DWG files.
  2. Click Reports (tab) > Reports (button) in AutoCAD Electrical.

  1. With the Bill of Material report selected, click the OK button.
  2. Choose which DWGs to process and add them by clicking the Process button.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click the "Change Report Format" button.

  1. Add the reference designator field you are trying to map by clicking it.

  1. Click OK.
  2. Click the "Put on Drawing" button.
  3. Place the report on the DWG.
  4. Save the DWG and check in back in to Vault.
  5. Close the Vault application if it is still open.
  6. When mapping to the UDP set as reference designator type, the desired reference designator property should now be available.
