Issue:

AutoCAD 2022 introduced two new commands to enable greater collaboration across product teams: · Trace · Push to Autodesk Docs.

These commands are available on the Collaborate tab in AutoCAD 2022, but are missing from the Collaborate tab in Civil 3D 2022.

Solution:

  • You can use these commands in Civil 3D 2022 by entering their commands on the Command line:

· TRACE

· PUSHTODOCSOPEN

· PUSHTODOCSCLOSE

  • Alternatively, you can add the commands to the Collaborate tab in Civil 3D 2022 ribbon by updating the CUI. A partial CUI file is attached to this article.

1. Close Civil 3D.

2. Download and extract the file from CollaborateTabCUIX.zip.

3. Copy the CollaborateTab.cuix file to Civil 3D installation folder. (C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2022\C3D by default)

4. Start Civil 3D.

5. At the command line, enter CUI.

6. On the Customize User Interface dialog box, next to the All Customization Files drop down list, click the Load Partial Customization File button.

7. Navigate to the folder where the CollaborateTab.cuix is located (see Step 3), select it and click Open.

8. Click OK to dismiss the Customize User Interface dialog box.

9. Switch to the Collaborate ribbon tab to confirm the “Push to Autodesk Docs” and “Traces Palette” buttons are present.

Note: If you don’t need these ribbon buttons anymore and want to remove them from the Collaborate ribbon tab, enter CUI at the command line, and on the All Customization dialog box, scroll to the “Partial Customization Files” section. Right-click the CollaborateTab and then choose Unload.
