Issue:

Users reported that Autodesk products randomly crash on Windows 11. Several products are affected:

  • AutoCAD products
  • Revit
  • Inventor
  • Navisworks

Environment:

Windows 11

Causes:

Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) render thread failures.

Solution:

  • Turn off the hardware acceleration for the Autodesk product.
    • AutoCAD products
      • Execute GRAPHICSCONFIG command
      • In the dialog "Graphics Performance " toggle "Hardware Acceleration" to "Off".
    • Inventor
      • Open the options and switch to tab "Hardware".
      • Check "Software graphics".
    • Navisworks
      • Open the options and switch to node "Display".
      • Uncheck "WPF Hardware Acceleration".
    • Revit
      • Open the options and select "Hardware".
      • Uncheck "Use Hardware Acceleration".
