Between two curves toolpath will not machine below cetreline of the component in FeatureCAM

Issue:

Using a ball nose to machine a fillet radius by using the between two curves strategy, but the tool will not go below the centreline of the component

Causes:

Curve too short

Solution:

To allow the tool to reach below the centreline, do the following
  1. Identify the curves used by looking at the feature properties.
  2. Project the curves to the UCS, by using the curve wizard.

  1. Extend the curves, so that the end of the curves are past the horizon of the radius by at least the tool radius.

  1. Swap the curves in the feature to the new extended curves.
  2. Simulate toolpath.
