Issue:

Publishing multiple drawings to PDF from AutoCAD or an AutoCAD-based software results in incorrect page size. Additionally:
  • The content may be printed too small, too large or in a rotated orientation.
  • Only a certain corner or portion of the drawing may be printed.
  • This may occur when using a third party plotter.
  • There may be no issue when using older versions of AutoCAD.

Causes:

  • Model space layouts have a wrong Page Setup settings or do not have one.
  • Corrupt or outdated plot driver.

Solution:

To resolve the issue, follow these steps:

Page Setup Manager

  1. For each drawing, type PAGESETUP on the command line.
  2. Select the page setup to edit and click Modify.
  3. Set the layout to the desired printer setting and page output size.
  4. Save and exit the Page Setup Manager dialog.
  5. Save the drawing.
  6. Publish the drawings.

Use a different plot driver

Test the batch plotting using the DWG to PDF plot driver:
  1. For each drawing, type PAGESETUP on the command line.
  2. Select the page setup to edit and click Modify.
  3. Set the layout to use the DWG To PDF.pc3 plotter.
  4. Set other plotting preferences, such as page output size, as needed.
  5. Save and exit the Page Setup Manager dialog.
  6. Save the drawing.
  7. Publish the drawings.
Note: If the issue is happening with third-party drivers such as Bluebeam or Adobe, update the drivers and try plotting again.

Check layout plot options

Check if the the plot settings have been applied to the layout prior to publishing:
  1. Type PLOT.
  2. Set all plot properties as desired.
  3. Select Apply to Layout.
  4. Do this for all sheets.

Alternatively:
  1. Open up the Page Setup Manager using the PAGESETUP command.
  2. Select an existing named page up and click Set Current. This should apply the plotter properties to all layouts in drawings.
