"Font .shx not found. Please enter substitution font <isocp.shx>:"

Environment:

  • Custom template DWG files are used for current standards' default paper format and default title block.

Causes:

  • Custom template DWG files are not optimized (cleaned).
  • One or both page format/title block template files contain text placed in a style with a nonregular TTF font.

Solution:

To prevent the notification about the missing SHX font from appearing, do the following steps for each DWG custom template file (default paper format and title borders) that is used with the AMTITLE command:
  1. Optimize the custom template DWG files and save them to the needed AutoCAD Mechanical DWG format. See article: Optimizing drawing files in AutoCAD with Purge, Audit & Recover
  2. Adjust the default paper format and title borders file text styles to contain a compatible font name: TTF Regular or an SHX-type font
