Crash with error: INTERNAL ERROR: !saverec.cpp@198: eFilerError in AutoCAD 2017

Issue:

Crash with error: INTERNAL ERROR: !saverec.cpp@198: eFilerError in AutoCAD 2017, AutoCAD MEP 2017, AutoCAD Architecture 2017, AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017 or AutoCAD Mechanical 2017 when opening drawing, running AUDIT or RECOVER or copying objects to another drawing. These drawings would work and open properly in 2016 or previous releases.

Causes:

Corrupt data in the drawing that was not crashing in previous releases but causes a crash in 2017.

Solution:

Install Service Pack 1 for AutoCAD 2017 and then run RECOVER or RECOVERALL on the drawings effected. RECOVERALL will fix the current file and any files referenced by the current file.
