Issue:

Deflection of RC slab does not depend on shrinkage effect simulated by temperature loads in Robot Structural Analysis. Deflection calculated for model taking into account shrinkage the same as for model with shrinkage effect neglected.

Causes:

Tension/compression forces neglected in RC slab design parameters. Only bemnding considered while RC required reinforcement calculation.

Solution:

Consider tension/compression while RC slab required reinforcement calculation.
Follow the steps
  1. Open Design >Required reinforcement of Slabs/Walls-Options >Code parameters.
  2. Edit set of parameters for calculated slab.
  3. Modify Label name.
  4. Activate Bending+compression/tension on General tab.
  5. Add.

  1. Assign modified set of parameters to RC slab.
  2. Repeat calculations of RC slab required reinforcement (use Design >Required reinforcement of Slabs/Walls-Options >Calculations).

Note 1
When bending +tension/compression is consitered for RC slab, it is recommended to use Analytical method for required reinforcement calculation.

Note 2
It is recommended to verify RC slab deflection using With stiffness update FEM method to obtain final (cracked and reinforced ) RC slab deflection.
