How to load data in Vault using Check in Project within Inventor

Issue:

When initially adding files to the Vault it is useful to check in all files associated with the current Inventor Project file. This process scans all the files and copies them into Vault.

Solution:

 
  • Open Autodesk Inventor, and log in to Vault. Go to the file menu and click the Vault Server icon. Mouse over the arrow at the bottom to scroll down to the 'Check In Project' command:

  • If the 'Check In Project' option is grayed out, this is because the project file being used is not a Vault-type project file. Either edit the current project file to be a Vault type or create a one in the same workspace.
  • Depending on the amount of data in the project, this process may take many hours, and Inventor will appear to be frozen with a 'Not responding' message while it completes. To speed up the initial disable the option to create DWF visualization files:
