Issue:

How to ignore surfaces of a model using component thickness in PowerMill.
Some bridge surfaces are created using roughing toolpath but want to know how to ignore some surfaces when creating finishing toolpaths.

Solution:

To ignore / avoid machining some surfaces of a model;
  1. Click Component Thickness option as shown in below image.
  2. In Component Thickness dialog box, select a Layer.
  3. Select the surfaces which you want to ignore for machining.
  4. Click Acquire Component icon.
  5. Set the Machining Mode to Ignore.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Click Accept.
