Solution:

Follow the steps:
  1. Select your Valve.
  2. Choose the option "4: Throttle Control Valve for Valve Type".
  3. Click Auxiliary Calculator Auxilary Calculator.PNG  and select AV Characteristics Curve Generator.
  4.  Select Gate Valve from Options and Minor Loss from Pipe Data (Wide Open Data) and assign 1 for Minor Loss.
  5.  Then click Compute.

  6. Click Create New Curve and Name it 12INGATEVALVECURVE, 12” Gate valve curve and click Close.
  7. Assign the new Valve Curve on Attribute Browser.

  8. Click AV (TCV) Surge Data Button  Auxilary Calculator.PNG and click Activate

  9. AV (TCV) Operation Change tool is Active now, Click AV (TCV) Operation Change.PNG AV (TCV) Operation Change.
  10. Name the Stem Curve VALVE_OP_CHANGE.
  11. Set the time as shown on the example below. The Valve is going to be closed in 10 second.

  12. Click Save and OK.
  13. Click Create to have AC(TCV) Operation Change data.
