Issue:

How to renumber assemblies while keeping (remembering) the defined detailing direction in Advance Steel?

Causes:

The custom defined assembly detailing direction is reset when deleting the assembly numbering.
The assembly reverts to the default detailing direction: the "Front" view of the main element of the assembly.

Solution:

One option is to manually change the assembly part marks: edit the assembly part mark in Advance Properties dialog box

Notes:
  • Changing the assembly part mark for one assembly will change the assembly part marks for all identical assemblies in that group.
  • Manually changing the part marks brings risks of mistakes. Run the automatic numbering process again, after finishing the manual editing of part marks. In this way, any potential error is found and corrected. The assembly part marks are not changed unless they need to.
