How to set a common Factory Asset folder in Inventor

Issue:

How to set a common factory asset folder in Inventor to share with other users. It seems factory likes to create a subfolder for asset how can a common one be set.

Solution:

Adding common Factory Asset folder for Inventor Factory.
  1. Open common project file, in Inventor or Project Editor.
  2. Under Libraries add a folder (Factory Assets) for your common Factory assets.
  3. Open Inventor and factory template or existing factory assembly file.
  4. In the Asset Browser, you will now see the folder that you added to the project file.
  5. At this point, you can copy existing assets to the folder along with your custom assets.

  1. When publishing an asset, that new folder will show as an option to save location
  2. When placing an asset that location and its contents will be available
