Issue:

After creating markups (either from mobile app or desktop) to a drawing (such as a DWG) in BIM 360 Document Management, when a new version of the drawing is uploaded the markups created in the previous version appear to have moved locations. For example, they may appear two inches lower on the page than from where they were originally made.

Causes:

The file is using Project Coordinates instead of Shared Coordinates. This causes the data in the file to move locations if changes are made to it and a new version gets uploaded.

Note: Use the BIM 360 Compare Tool to see the difference between two versions of the same drawing.

Solution:

Access the file from the authoring tool and update to using Shared Coordinates. This will keep the drawing location from jumping around, allowing markups to reflect their original placement.

Products:

BIM 360;
