Issue:

After copying a Revit Cloud Workshared model to another folder in BIM 360, it cannot be linked in Revit through the "External Resources" anymore. It sometimes appears in the folder it was copied to. And sometimes it is not there.

Causes:

An unsupported workflow was used to share a copy of the model with another team:

After manually copying a cloud workshared model to another folder, the model can be in a state in which Revit cannot find it in the folder, because the source file is saved as a ZIP file in the background in BIM 360:

Why an RVT model is (sometimes) downloaded as ZIP from BIM 360

Solution:

To avoid the issue:
  1. Activate the Design Collaboration module.
  2. Set up Team folders for each team.
  3. Use the "Share" and "Consume" workflows in Design Collaboration to share packages from one team to another.
