Issue:

You have an AutoCAD Architecture DWG that contains AutoCAD Architecture components such as wall, window, door and etc.

In order to import them in Inventor as factory assets, you use Facotry > Sync Inventor.

However, they are shown in wireframe and you are not able to use them because there is no modelling data.

You can see that the drawing is just a linked DWG file.

Causes:

This is because the AutoCAD Architecture components are not 3D solids. They are just 3D surfaces with AutoCAD Architecture intelligence.

Solution:

You can consider the following workaround to import those AutoCAD Architecture components in Inventor.
  1. Open the drawing in AutoCAD Architecture.
  2. Run CONVERTTO3DSOLIDS.
  3. Select the AutoCAD Architecture components that you want to import.
  4. Components are converted to 3D solids.
  5. Launch Inventor and open a factory layout.
  6. Run Factory > Facotry Components > Import DWG Solids.
  7. Select the drawing.
  8. The converted solids will be created as separate part files.
