Issue:

This article describes how to define column widths for report tables in AutoCAD Electrical. The column widths may then be used during the Table Generation Setup.
Report examples: panel component report, BOM report ..etc.

Solution:

There are two ways to achieve this:

Using a SET file

In AutoCAD Electrical, run a new report.
Make sure that the target report type has a SET (settings) file established.
- A SET file is auto-created in the USER folder the very first time when running a given report, and then clicking Change report format.
- The SET file name is same as report name plus the SET extension.
- For example, a terminal number report will generate a report settings file (C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD Electrical version\release\language\Support\User\term.set) if anything has been modified in the formatting of the report on the Report Generation.
Open this SET file with any ASCII text editor.
Go to the fourth line. It contains a list of field character widths corresponding to the field names listed in the third line.
On the fourth line, adjust the column widths as needed.
Save and close the file.
Back in the Report Generator, uncheck Squeeze. The report display will now follow the column widths as found in the edited SET file.
Click Put On Drawing. The report will use the column widths as it is inserted on to the drawing.
