Fabrication CADmep toolbar is not displaying on startup

Issue:

Users reported that, after starting Autodesk Fabrication CADmep the toolbar is not displaying, entering the TBAR command has no effect. Also, when launching CADmep using the shortcut icon, Advance Steel launches itself, whereas it should bring up AutoCAD.

Causes:

Fabrication CADmep requires the name of the Customization Group:

Solution:

Specify the Customization Group name in the CADmep Config Editor:

  1. Close CADmep if open
  2. Start the CADmep Config Editor:
  • In Windows 7: click Start > All Programs > Autodesk > Fabrication CADmep <Version> > Edit Configuration
  • In Windows 10: click Start > Fabrication CADmep <Version> > Edit Configuration
  1. From the list of available configurations select the one in used
  2. Click OK
  3. Click the CADmep tab
  4. Enable the Specify Menu Group and Specify Menu Name options
  5. Set both values to the name of the Customization Group of the AutoCAD product in use (refer to the above table, below sample screenshot shows Advance Steel):

  1. Click OK to apply the changes and close the Config Editor
  2. Start CADmep

The toolbar should now be visible. If not, enter TBAR to load it.
