Issue:

How to calculate the external surface area of a body in Fusion

Solution:

Right click the body in the browser tree and select Properties. The Area value at the top is the external surface area of the body. Note:
  • The selected body must be a solid, and cannot be a surface body.
  • All joined bodies will be included in the calculation.

Note: It also works to right click the top component. The window that opens looks different. The Physical Properties section needs to expanded to see these properties.

To view the surface area of particular faces, a face can be selected and that surface area is displayed in the lower right corner of the screen.
